Writing Seminar: "12 Hours on Craft"
Andrew Todhunter will teach a new, twelve-hour intensive on writing in March of 2008.
Presented by Mendocino's Gallery Bookshop, the seminar will take place in Mendocino, California on two consecutive Saturdays, March 8th and 15th, 2008.
About the Seminar:
A two-day, twelve-hour intensive on writing craft and style for writers of fiction and narrative non-fiction. Course material will be gauged to the voracious reader and serious student of writing, published or unpublished. The only true pre-requisites are passion for language and a devotion to detail. We will look primarily at writing craft from the micro rather than macro perspective. We’ll talk about diction, tone, rhythm and other elements that play a role in strong, clear writing at the level of the sentence and paragraph. Less time will be spent on wide-angle concerns such plot, structure, character arcs, etc. The pace will be brisk, the tone lively and supportive.
Sign up in person at the Gallery Bookshop in Mendocino (At the corner of Main and Kasten Streets) or via email through Christie Olson Day [christie@gallerybookshop.com].
Location: Hill House, Mendocino village.
Times: Day One: Saturday, March 8th, 2008 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
